Employment:

05/97 - present BiblioTech Ltd

During my time at BiblioTech Ltd I have had a varied role and even though my main responsibilities have been towards production, I also work with our office servers and workstations as necessary, building, installing and configuring the systems; this includes both Windows 2000 and Linux systems. As the systems department fluctuates then so does my role in this area, anywhere from building W2K and Red Hat servers from the components, installing and configuring systems, through to desktop support for the staff.

BiblioTech Ltd. develops web-based software to complete an integrated suite that currently serves the educational sector. Web based communication tools, email, chat, discussion, and filestorage to name a few, form the basis for a learning platform that integrates 3rd party educational content. This suit goes to build the community called schoolmaster. Schoolmaster currently has 350,000 registered members across the world.
As production manager my role is to develop and manage all the 'front end' aspects of BiblioTech's community sites, from application development to marketing site production. This is a varied and sometimes complex job, especially as the sites are multilingual currently in 6 languages including Arabic. Because I have worked at BiblioTech for such a long time I have been instrumental in developing processes and procedures regarding the development cycle of products.
Managing a team of HTML producers, a designer, and a translation coordinator, I also work closely with the head of the technical department to ensure smooth handovers and on time delivery of projects.

01/99 - present Production Manager.
My major responsibilities include:
* Management of departmental workflow with regard to timescales and work allocation to ensure co-ordination of team with other business units in order to meet delivery deadlines.
* Management of personnel performance evaluation, training and review.
* Recruitment of new staff.
* Development of procedures, guidelines and standards for HTML coding and site structure.
* Researching new technologies and trends to ensure the departmental adoption of relevant industry developments
* Management of regular site reviews to ensure they are up to date and consistent.
* Production of weekly departmental reports for senior management.
* Dealings with all people on all levels.
* Ensuring projects conform to pre-defined business case with regard to scope, timescale and cost.
* Ensuring the department works within budgetary constraints.

05/98 - 01/99 Lead Producer / Webmaster.
* BiblioTech launched Postmaster a free web-based email service in 1998; I was moved to Lead Producer and was responsible for the GUI and front-end production of the site. This involved liasing with the designers and the development team to ensure a consistent look and feel of the site, and that delivery deadlines were met. As webmaster I was responsible for statistical reporting for Postmaster using Webtrends and web server administration.

05/97 - 05/98 Cyber Centre Manager.
* Responsible for the daily running of the business, hiring of staff, coordinating and teaching training sessions for Windows and the Internet, and managing a number of POP email account for Cyber Centre clients.
* Helped build and develop the network.
* Responsible for the maintenance of the on site Desktop PCs, servers, and the network.

06/96-04/97 Surge London.
Surge is a small clubwear company. I helped develop their web site and digitise their artwork methods i.e. the use of Adobe Photoshop.

10/94-05/96 Snow + Rock,
Assistant Manager of the Climbing Department.
I was initially responsible for the running of the Mail Order department as well as general work on the shop floor, incorporating all stages of buying process. I was later promoted to Assistant Manager and ran the Climbing Department.
